MY CRAZY EXPERIENCE SHOOTING ON THE STREET OF LAGOS

First off, Nigerians are one of the happiest people on earth and Lagos to mention a few is one of the cities to visit in Nigeria. I was really energized and excited when my photographer and my creative director told me we were heading to Broad Street for the shoot. On getting there, we were just about setting up the camera equipment and other stuff, when some Huge, red eyed guys approached us, lol. We’ve actually prepared our minds for such things to happen, but not as crazy as it turned out to be. Before they requested for a tip(owo omo onile), they had already threatened the hell out of everyone, lol, this was so funny and odd to me, I believe we are all citizens and we shouldn’t face so many troubles from a fellow citizen,  if at all, it should be from a person in the  place of authority, like a police officer. With all this going on I was already getting tired and sweaty. I told my director to let’s leave and find somewhere more peaceful and less congested to shoot. She assured me I would like the outcome of the shoot, and not to sweat about it. She practically took control of the situation, I was surprised to see she knows how to talk to them and what to say to them. After a long agreement and disagreement, we came to a mutual agreement and Tipped then with what we could afford.

After we had Tipped them off they immediately turned their roles to creative director and some assumed the position of a photographer (lol), as some brought out their smartphones and started photographing me. At first, I was really shy, but they controlled the traffic and make me takes poses in front of a still traffic (this wasn’t one of our plans). These people inspired and gingered me (lol), the people on street started praising me, oya pose(pose for picture ), gbogbo motor ma duro fu e ( all the motorist will stop for you ), mama alaye ni e (you are a big woman) at that point all my shyness went away, I started feeling like a celebrity, striking all kind of poses. We ended up taking hundreds of photographs. I love the shoot, I love Lagos, I love Nigeria. Eko oni baje oo.
